~Fall Family Time~

These sisters brought their beautiful families to me for some fun in the fall leaves!  We had a great day, unfortunately all of the girls weren’t feeling their best; we still managed to have some fun and get some shots! Thank you all!

~Evening at the Lake~Smith Mountain Lake Photographer

Earlier this summer I was lucky enough to visit Smith Mountain Lake and the beautiful Holbrook family! It was pretty hot, but we had so much fun! Thank you all =)

~Beck Boys~ Roanoke, VA Children’s Photography

I was thrilled when I got a call from from the editor of  Bella magazine to do a personal shoot of her boys! I love all things from Bella, and now that I’ve met them personally, I love the family behind Bella’s pages as well.

These boys were active! And I DO NOT mean than in a bad way–but as the caption says “Boys will be boys” and as I’ve learned especially in this line of work, all kids will be kids! Yes, I have to chase them, climb in and around trees, make silly faces, and occassionally throw the word “fart” out there…. but it comes with the turf of children’s portraiture.  Usually the best galleries come from sessions where the kids ARE playing around and being themselves! So I say all of this to educate the parents out there, don’t be upset or get mad if your kids aren’t listening—they feed off the negative vibes & usually get worse!!–it is ok, it is one of the reasons why you’re paying me to do this job!  Know that your child isn’t the first and won’t be the last doesn’t just sit there and smile.  I love all of the kids I work with and their sessions because I’m challenged and grow in a different way each time!

Thank you again, Joey for allowing me to capture your boys!

~It runs in the family~

I’m so lucky to have started working with the Sizemore family when Miss Ari was just a few months old and always enjoy our shoots together! They usually include Marc playing guitar—which is a treat!— and this session they brought the ukulele Ari loves! I think its in her blood =)

Good Golly Miss Molly~ Salem, Va

I love, love, LOVE sessions like this!  When you work with a family in their own home, I feel like the comfort just radiates through the images.  This young family couldn’t have been sweeter, even if Miss Molly didn’t want to smile too much =)  Thank you for welcoming me into your home!
